The Future Of Print in a Sustainable World

The world is at an inflection point with four simultaneous and inter-related existential challenges: Covid-19, the climate crisis, global economic meltdown and rising inequality. In this context, we will explore the future of print including accelerating circularity, raising climate ambition and shifting from iterative to moonshot innovation while maintaining its unique and emotive role in our everyday lives.

About Aisling

Aisling Ryan heads up The Corporate Practice at WPP and specialises in providing global advisory services to corporate, government and non-governmental organisations to maximise impact in their sector and society. She also leads WPP’s relationship with the United Nations working across the UN SDGs, UNFCCC, W.H.O and UN Women. She also represents WPP at the World Economic Forum Industry Strategy Leaders Meeting and at Davos.

A seasoned strategist, Aisling is passionate about transforming global societal problems. She believes that impact is accelerated by partnership between corporates, government and NGOs. She works with these stakeholders individually and collectively to optimise their relationships with each other and maximise impact. She consults across multiple sectors and has over 25 years of experience in global strategy and communications. Her particular areas of interest are sustainable transformation, circularity, impact consulting, diversity and inclusion, corporate responsibility and reputation management.

To date, Aisling has worked with the United Nations and the UNFCCC with a focus on the SDGs and climate change. In 2018, she pioneered The People’s Seat, providing an unprecedented opportunity for people around the world to have their voices directly heard by world leaders with #TakeYourSeat. The campaign was launched by Sir David Attenborough and dominated global media as the top news story. It was recently honoured at the UN SDG Awards. She is currently working with W.H.O on COVID-19, the UNFCCC towards COP26 and UN Women on Generation Equality.

In 2016, Aisling led the launch of #JoinTheHerd – a global lobby platform created to stop the ivory trade, resulting in four UN resolutions and legislative change in China, Hong Kong, UK, US, Canada and France.  She also sits on the Business in the Community leadership team and is a trustee of CSL (Conservation South Luangwa) in Zambia.

Aisling’s work has been awarded with multiple creative and effectiveness awards including Gold Cannes Lions, D&AD Pencil and the Grand Prix at the Marketing Society Awards. She was recognised in the 2019 HERoes Women Role Model Awards Top 100 List of Senior Executives.
